A good thread title helps you get more responses by letting members know what specific information you need:

basically you need to know if you can use a D16A crank in a D16z6.

Honestly, I have never heard of a D16A. I will assume however that they are interchangeable since all D series of that style or whatever are the same bore. So strokes will be the same. If the D16A was equivilent to a D16A6 or such, it should be compatible. The only way to know for sure is to take it out and mic the journals. I'm sure data exists for the D16Z6 so you don't have to tear both apart.

excuse my spelling and maybe not sounding totally coherant, work sucked so I've been drinking.

Was it a vtec D16A? (i seem to recall their existance, although if memory serves me correctly they were extremely rare.)

D16A models were either OBD0 or were OBD1 in foreign cars. I would doubt it IMO, sorry if this doesn't help.
