Buying a catback from a company is another bad thing you can do. Find a shop that can do mandrel bends, do a 2.25" piping from the header back, straight pipe and mate it to an ES Oval muffler 2.25" in/out. Looks stock as **** and good hp gains. If no shops can do mandrel bends, there's a few people that sell mandrel bent pipes for cheap online.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Hmm, so 2.25 piping from the header back to a ES oval muffler? no resonator or cat?, i want some bottom end, thnx for your imput.

anyone else?

do not remove you cat!......you'll never notice the 1-2 hp you 'll gain by taking it out and you 'll be stinking up the neibourhood with exhaust fumes and blowing black smoke at WOT........get a high- flow cat AND resonator and you'll be happy you did.....I AM!

to me a 4-1 on a 1.5 not built it seems a bit much with a 4-1 u only get power at the end of the powerband and with the d15 vtec powerband being narrow i woudl get a 4-2-1

IMO

my thought exactly!!!....they already have a good vtec cam and pull hard from 5 to redline so why not get something that gets you to 5 grand a little better!

the previous guy must be mixed up in 4-1 and 4-2-1!

The difference between the 2 is 2hp in the different parts of the powerband.

I know what kind of exhaust to go with and header, but he complained about losing bottom end like there is anything there to begin with so I was being EXTREMELY sarcastic. Since I have no emissions here, I'll go with a 4-2-1 header and 2.25" mandrel straight pipe with an ES Oval muffler. Maybe use a test pipe with flanges just in case the straight pipe gets too noisy, then place a high flow cat. It's not like you're playing with 350lbs+ of tq so losing 3lbs of tq ain't gonna be much, you're probably not going to feel it. BTW, when you do you see peak power below 3k on these motors...higher peak might be a bit better since these suckers rev to the extreme and make power up top. </TD></TR></TABLE>

i wouldnt run a strait pipe 1st ...just a bad idea (unless u have a extremely fast street or track car)

the two bolded sentences contrdict each other u know but then u say maybe. well considering i know alot about the jdm d15b vtec I know you need power down low and gain some torque(hondas need all we can get) second all the other mods u do to the car will help top end ...top end is easy to gain on a d15b ...bottom end power is where u need to get your edge. I know this from experience and have tuned many d15b vtec engines on dynos

If you want quiet and deep, RS*R ex-mag (my choice) or Apexi World sport. Pretty much anything else is going to be louder. i don't know what it is but every custom exhaust I hear sounds loud.

Note that I said "that I've heard" before anyone says anythin
