i would like to know if the engine parts on D-series motors are interchangeable ?
like the Cams , can the D16 SOHC VTEC cam work in a D15B JDM SOHC VTEC ?
what about intake manifolds and headers ? ( can a aftermarket D16 SOHC VTEC header work on a D15B JDM SOHC VTEC)

yes all of the stuff is interchangeable.. the only thing i have found on the D series that arent interchangeable is the rear main seals,
What i mean is that you cant use a rear main seal housing from a 92-95 motor and put it on to a 96-up motor, the ear on the newer motors stick out further than the 92-95. but if you stay within the years of 92-95 then all of them are interchangeable with each other, except that the D15 motors have smaller main bearins than the D16's

Cams are not. The Z6 and Y8 cams distributor slots are off by a few degrees from each other.

But, then again, it's nothing an adjustable cam gear cannot fix.

Yeah i had to do that when i put a 94 EX on a 98 DX bottem end, what a bitch!!

actually you can put a z6 cam in a y8. i am about to do it. if you use the stock z6 cam gear it should be timed right but if you use the y8 gear it has to be adjustable and advanced 5 degrees

Yeah....I didn't bother thinking about that.

SO the answer would be. Yes cams are interchangable as long as you either use the Cam and Cam gear combo or an adjustable cam gear.

so the D16 vtec cam can be put into a D15 JDM Vtec once i use the D16 cam gear ?
