Default CV joint/boot problem

i think i might have a torn boot, or a bad CV joint.. there is a popping noise from under the hood when i stop and take off.. i tired the whole turning bit.. and im not sure if it was worse when i turned or not...... what does it take to wear out a CV joint/boot, and how much to get joints/boots for B series?

If your outer cv boot is torn then you should have grease all over the inside of your wheel. You could also have a problem with the inner joint as well. Go underneath the car and check for play with the axles. If they are bad it would be better to take a trip down to autozone and pay 60 bucks for a lifetime warrantee axle (which is what i did). Good luck

it's ver easy to resolve this, put your car up on jack stands or roll it up on ramps and look at the boots. if they are torn fix it, if not... and you made sure you tightened all the bolts including the blots on your strut bar, take it to a shop and have them look at it.

How hard is it to change the CV boot? anything in particular I need to look for? I just noticed that my driver's side has a small crack in it, and some grease is leaking out. So I need to get this done before it causes damage. I don't really see any specific instructions for it in the manual. Does it involve taking apart the ball joint? TIA for any tips.
