Cruise Control SET/RESUME Button Relocation.....
I got a momo steering wheel.... been w/o cruise control for around 2 years now..... hehe.... i think it's about time I hook up some buttons to get my cruise control back (will put buttons on dash)....... i do NOT have the stock steering wheel so i will have to buy new buttons and just cut and splice basically..... i just need to know a few things....
Have a few questions for ppl that know......
#1) Are the stock steering wheel mounted CC buttons "Momentary Push Buttons?" From the way I REMEMBER they work, I figure they should be......
#2) How do I go about wiring it? There are basically 3 wires, blue/red, green/black, green red...... According to my helms manual, the blue red goes to the horn switch and to one side of the set button and one side of the resume button. then the green/red goes to the set button, and the green/black goes to the resume button....... i THINK that's what it says.... i'm not sure.... anyway, if someone could break it down, like is blue/red the ground? actually are they all grounds? (btw, this is ignoring the slip ring part)
#3) I can just ignore the slip ring rite? since I'm not mounting my CC buttons on the steering wheel, i dont' need the slip ring (dont' have anyway) rite?
#4) the helms also says if cc doesn't work, i should check to see if the horns sound..... problem is i disconnected my stock horns a lot time ago..... they aren't even on the car (i have air horns running it's own power now)..... anyway..... do i NEED the stock horns hook'd up to use CC? if so, is there a way to bypass them?
someone help me out.... i tried to hook it up, but it doesn't work.... i'm stuck........

I know the answer to one of your questions. And the answer is yes, the buttons on the wheel are momentary push buttons. When you push them in they will pop back out to their original position.

1. yes they are
2. just pull up the wiring schematics for cruise control and you got yourself set
3. you do not need the slip ring
4. no you do not need the stock horns to run cc. The horns act as a ground for the cc. Think of it as a relay.
You'll have to hard wire everything up. Lil time consuming if you're up to the task which I see you are. I'm up for my own project trying to install cruise control into my hatch.
