Default Coolant leak...D16Z6

I've got an anti-freeze leak on the backside of the motor and I need to pinpoint where exactly it is coming from. I don't have much knowledge on engine coolant systems, so I pulled out the helms manual. I took a look at it and checked out all the hoses that run behind the motor for your coolant. I rubbed a couple of hoses to see if they were a little wet, grimy and whatnot. Well it turned out that the one hose that was a little wet is the bypass hose that runs to your EACV from your connector pipe below it. Now what I need to know is:

-Is it possible to have a leak in/from this hose?

-What exactly is the function of the bypass hose?

-What else should I check/look for?

-Once it is fixed will the check engine light go off? Or will it need to be somehow reset?

Thank you

After I looked at it a bit more it might be the heater hose, what exactly is the function of this hose?

Sends coolant through your heater control valve, which opens and closes to allow hot coolant through your heater core inorder to have heat.

It's a very cheap part, and not to hard to replace. Just make sure your clamps are on good, and you might even want to buy adjustable screw-down type hose clamps.

Would this heater hose leak cause the motor to overheat?

If you leaked enough coolant to where the engine heat no longer has anything to transfer to. But if you check your coolant every dayand keep it topped off, you'll be good until you replace the hose.
