what are the stuff that i need to convert. so far i converted the intake manifold and injectors. also, can i use an alternator off a 94 civic si to replace my obd2 alternator?

you know you can plug the GSR OBD2 engine harness right into the shock tower plugs, you are waisting your time and money and installing older parts

Change only 2 things:

- obd1 ecu
- obd harness conversion

Done....why you'd waste your time with what you have already done, i don't know

what do u mean, change obd1 ecu, let me get this straight. i just have to use a obd1 gsr ecu and obd2 gsr integra harness right. but using the gsr obd2 harness, wouldn't that be running weird with my obd1 ecu. u guys are telling me i don't need to change the manifold, no nothing except for ecu only right?

okay let me correct myself, all i need is just to get the obd2 engine harness and drop my motor in, it'll work. all i have to use is a obd1 p72 gsr ecu right? will i be able to pass ref'd like this. and what about the sensor on top of the intake manifold, can i just throw that away.

I have a 1996 CX hatch. I have a B20B for it. I got an obd1 pr4 ecu and the harness adaptor = done!

Both obd1 and obd2 use the same sensors to read information, its not that big a deal, and nothing will go funny, its plug and play.

The biggest advantage with going obd1 it that the ecu's are so easily chipped so you can tune for modified engines.

kewl, so ur telling me that i can just drop my 99 gsr obd2 in my 94 si hatch and slap on a p72 gsr obd1 ecu and i'm ready to roll. what about ref'd, will i be able to pass like this?

there is a thread around here on how to do this swap, obviously , but more important how the OBD2 engine harness plugs into the shock tower plugs, and yes you can use a chipped P28 (chipped for a stock GSR) or use a OBD1 P72 (kinda hard to find and $$). For OBD1 they put you on the sniffer & rollers, the engine needs to "run good" and you need a cat....

I'm not from Cali, but based on everything I've read on here, you won't pass if you're using an engine swapped in that's older than the chassis. This would be especially true if the vehicle came as OBD2 and you're now OBD1. A lot of emissions-conscious states would fail you for this.

alrite, i'm swapping the 99 gsr obd2 into my 94 honda civic si hatchback. so there shouldn't be any problem with this as far as ref'd right since my motor is newer than my chassis. i actually have a p72 gsr ecu already, obd1. so i'm just getting ready to get the obd2 engine harness and plug it in. would the 96-97 engine harness fit as well, or do i have to get the 98-2000.
