Okay, i live in canada this cold freaking place, where we have a block heater that suck into the block
then when the car parks outside overnight, we need to plug in this block heater, then it will keep the anti-freeze warmer, then when we start it in the morning, it will be easier to start...

now coz my block heater was blocking my greddy turbo for proper fit.. so i took it out..

now i found some other block heater

this block heater goes into the oil dipstick, and it keep the OIL warm...
would this work?

coz our stock block heater heats the anti-freeze, and now this block heater heats the oil...

same thing??

i have some family in wiliston, north dakota. it gets super cold there. of the vehicles they park outside in the winter, they all use the heated dipstick block heater. i also have a friend that lived in anchorage, alaska that used one as well. they all say it does the trick for them. hope that helps.

That sucks man, just move to Texas. Not only are you never going to need a block heater, you can get by with only a sweater during most of the winter

try living in fairbanks, alaska. most of the winter is -20 to -50 below.
it just snowed today and its staying. i got at least an inch on my car.
weather said it is supposed to get down to 15 degrees by tonight, and more snow tomorrow moring.
i have a block heater on my car, and my friend had the dipstick heater on his, it seemed to work ok.
my question, does your turbo run good during the really cold days?

Back in the day Windsor used to get ALOT of snow. Only in the last 5-10 years we haven't gotten more then 5 or 6 inches at a time.

I remember a couple of times when we had 18-19 inches overnight, *that* sucked to shovel

Hmm.. It's cold outside and you want to make sure your car starts up in the morning. Well first of all, your battery must have enough Cold Cranking Amps to turn over the Starter. Second, you've gotta have either Synthetic or 5w-30 oil in the engine. Because at 0degrees, oil doesn't run well.. 5w-30 is gooey.. But Synthetic just runs. By having either Synthetic or 5w-30, you'll help prevent the engine from scratching itself from the inside. Third, you've gotta make sure that your connections from the Battery, to the Starter, and to Ground are clean.

But as for Block Heater to keep the anti-freeze warm, I'm not too sure if you'll need that. Because most anti-freeze products can protect a car up to -30 degrees. But as for the Block Heater for the oil, you'll need that. Because the smoother and easier it is for the oil to run, the easier it will be for the Crankshaft to turn.

Or I could be completely wrong and none this will help.. But good luck..

Ive been in Windsor for 10 years and I do remember a few huge snows. Nowadays its just stupid how little snow we get. Snow is awesome. I take back my previous statement... i want snow
