CODE 43 - Fuel Supply System....How do I fix this?
Ok I got a Code 43 and I dunno what could be wrong with it. Seems to run fine, no hesitations. I do get alot of carbon out the tailpipe though. Like if I clean the tip, about a minute later after I started the car it's dirt black again. Gas guage goes down quicker too if I push the car hard. I thought it was my O2 sensor but my CEL says Code 43 Fuel Supply System (4 long flashes and 3 quick ones). Fuel Supply System and heavy Carbon buildup could only mean to me that I'm running rich. Too much fuel? How do I fix this? What is causing me to run rich? I have a 93 Civic DX with the P05 ECU. Help!!

Bringing this thread back to life - I was seaching for code 43 and thought maybe I could still help. I have the same code but its a different problem. Your car is a DX with a d15b7 (?) and you have a p05 ECU which is for a CX. The d15b7 (DX) has 240CC injectors and the d15B8 (CX) has 180cc injectors and that ECU would cause the d15b7 to run very rich and throw that code. The correct ECU for the DX is the P06.

I have the right injectors and my car still throws 43.
I've learned to ignore it and just turn the key off/on when it turns on. Which is like once every thousand miles...or once every minute, depending on the day.

this also happened to my car.
Turns out the fuel reg went bad - stayed open I guess.
This caused a lean mixture which burned my wideband O2 senor out.
Replaced the sensor and the code was still there until I replaced the fuel regulator with a new one.
Good luck thats one of the hardest problems to deal with if you ask me.
Since it could be any part of the fuel sytem.
injectors, fuel pump, filter, fuel reg. or the O2 sensor.
I say borrow known good parts if you can before you start buying new parts.

Ok so I've got the same code on my d15b7 it's all factory in a 92 civic Sadan. The car seemed to drive just fine until I hit the interstate and cruise in 5th gear and it would randomly just loose power but when I turn the car off and back on while rolling it comes straight back to normal. Decided to pull the injectors and one of them had a plastic tip missing so I replaced the injectors. Now when I start the car it idled rough and feels out of balance when I rev it up and it will also backfire through to intake. I've replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, wires, distributor, starter, ignition, tps, 02 sensor, ecu, main relay and it still won't run right. Backfiring from the intake and all. Also the car is in perfect time. I'm at a loss and any help would be greatly appreciated .

Your spark plug order is likely mixed up. Replace the O2 sensor with a quality one (OE if you can stand the price) and the problem will likely go away.

so is my lx supposed to have the p06? This thing is gutless, I mean gutless af.

This car still won't be fast with all codes cleared... but it may very likely be better than it is now.

Yes, the P06 is the correct ECU for a D15B7 engine. It is likely that your O2 sensor is sending faulty readings to the ECU, so replacing it should fix the code 43. Code 7 is a TPS code... you will need to check the minimum and maximum voltage readings as well as the steady voltage increase when the throttle blade is slowly opened. As for the code 17... you know what you have to do for the speed sensor.
This car still won't be fast with all codes cleared... but it may very likely be better than it is now.

The speed sensor is easy, but what's going on is
On highway and Speedo is working, when the needle drops to zero it shifts from 5th and in to 4th
If the Speedo is NOT working it will not shift in to 5th
Regardless if the Speedo is working or not it shifts in to all other gears just fine except when above happens.
The o2 sensor is a easy fix.

Key on, engine off... the TPS voltage on the signal wire should be .490-.500 volts. Full throttle should be between 4.20 and 4.50 volts. Check your VSS plug for corrosion of the pins. If all appears normal, you may have to consider replacement of the instrument cluster.
