coilovers..not for lowering but for raising it up
any1 ever raise a civic up to put bigger tires on it?
would the ebay coilvers go high enough to put truck tires on? winter is coming
it sounds funny...but idc. i think it would be cool to have a civic as high as an explorer

im pretty sure there no way to lift a civic high enough to put "truck tires" under it. all the coils you buy will come the same height as a stock setup, then typically people lower from there. i would bet theres no any way to get it much higher then stock w/o some type of fabricating a "suspension" lift like a 4x4 would do.

You could maybe get another inch with coil spacers, but I doubt any of the truck kits use small enough coils to allow you to use their spacers.
But I don't think a civic's suspension even droops that much with no weight on it.

find a truck frame and take the civic one off bolt it up and run some super swampers lol . It wouldnt be very slow that that rotation mass of the new tire.

I mean, you can't raise it a ton, but you can get it enough to get you through a bit of snow a little better. I've considered doing it myself.
If you're doing that, you do have to watch out for positive camber, which IMO is dangerous compared to negative camber, as it can significantly reduce cornering grip. I wouldn't consider it without adjustable camber.

Not totally true. I've seen it done in a 'post your winter beater' thread in Appearance/Cosmetic. Someone was running a DA on sleeved coil springs (like GC style) and had it lifted about 2-2.5" higher than stock. It was their shop car that they used to run parts around and pull shells around their lot. I'm not sure what sleeves they were running, but it worked. He wasn't running truck tires, but you could probably run light truck snow tires if you wanted.

we lifted my buddy's 03 cavalier with ground control coilover sleeves for a 1st gen eagle talon TSi AWD, was about a 2" lift.

I know when i installed my koni coilovers the first time, it was much higher than stock. I started at the highest setting and worked my way lower since i thought it would be easier to lower it than raise it. Im not sure about other brands.

Idk if I'm right but aren't they mainly used for the track? I mean yea We buy them to lower the car but we don't really use their full potential... I think they set up the car on scales then adjust from there I think... Correct me if I'm wrong...
