Default which clutch kit?? centerforce or sachs??

going by the local nopi dealer to buy my clutch kit and flywheel.

I'm getting the unorthodox 8lb flywheel for $235 but I don't know which clutch kit to get...

either a centerforce stage 2 kit which doesn't look like it comes with a throw-out bearing for $156

or a sachs kit for $140 that comes with a throw-out bearing

never heard of sachs before so what do you guys think??

Sachs is OE for BMW. They are made in Germany. They make various parts like fan clutches, tranny clutches, shocks, etc. It should be like a stock replacement.

ok then, I think I'll go with the centerforce clutch then since I want something with more grip than stock...

anyone know any good things about zoom clutches?? my local advance store has those and I hear about them but nothing to good or bad really??

You'll be replacing that centerforce within a year (Or wanting to replace it).

How much are you getting the centreforce for? I'd get a Exedy before a centerforce (oh wait I did).

the centerforce is like $150 for the plate and disc...why would I be replacing it soo soon?? too heavy??

I hear all the decent priced exedy clutches are just oem replacements...what auto stores sell them and what is the part number for the better than stock one??

what about zoom clutch kits??

You get what you pay for. Everyone that I know that had a centerforce was complaining inside a month about how the clutch felt like it was slipping. Most of them went to a ACT, Exedy or Clutchnet and haven't complained since.

Exedy does make OEm replacements but their single plate organic clutch is better then OE. It has near stock clutch pedal feel and engagement.

well, I think the thread is about to take on a life of it's own here but just to let everyone know...

I got a clutch masters 8lb flywheel at the local nopi shop for $250 and a zoom powertorque clutch setup from advance for $124 rated at 40% over stock (had nothing but good experiences in the past with zoom clutches...)

Good stuff.

Nextel....I honestly don't have much experience with their Cerrimetallic clutches. Exedy's quality has impressed me to say the least and if I ever had a need for a stronger clutch I would only go with Exedy, OS Giken, or ACT.
