Default Clunking noise

Hello. I have a 99 Honda civic LX. When I step on the brake pedal and make a turn there is a clunking noise coming from the front right passenger side. I turned the wheel and pulled back and forth on the tire..there is movement on the ball joint that connects the knuckle to the strut. Do I need to replace just the ball joint or the knuckle with the ball joint?

It might be your tie rod but I would check to see. Inspect you upper/lower ball joints, tie rod and axle.

....you don't need to replace the knuckle in either case. the upper ball joint will require that you replace the whole upper control arm tho. lower the knuckle WILL need to come out. i'd say inspect the axel but if you say the wheel moves i'd say tierod
