Cheapest way to fix cracked exhaust manifold?
1998 Civic LX has a crack in the exhaust manifold. Its very loud on the road and exhaust comes in the vents when I'm stopped.
I was told that the cat is part of the system and is costly to replace. Whats the cheapest way to get my exhaust working properly again?

Use E6011 on the manifold since it is cast. This rod works great for this task on a budget. Other cheap method is find a friend with a MIG welder, use CO2 and just some plain wire and weld it back together.

This looks to be the cheapest I can find, would this work? Just bolts up to flange on top of the cat? Is it easy to swap out o2 sensors?

As long as the O2 sensor from the factory wasn't stuck on there with cold weld it should come right out. Have had issues like that before on other cars.

It looks like it is screwed in.
Do you usually change the gaskets when doing this?
Just to make sure, mine has the cat right below the manifold. These aren't welded together, correct?

Cat is part of the manifold, dont weld it because it will crack again, this is a common issue, you can do the header and swap exhaust but i cant remember the year

Re: Cheapest way to fix cracked exhaust manifold?
So with the the header in the above ebay link, I can just sit that atop the cat as shown in this diagram? The header and cat are not one unit and can be swapped out?
