Don't think 2 bottles would have been enough for carpet. However, my wife started using this other stuff that dyes plastics, wood, and can permanently stain certain hard surfaces, PERMANENTLY. Going to try it out on a pillar pod and see.

Just as the other posted said, get an aftermarket one:

Plus just in case you want say red you can get red etc... that is sort of a cool look.
These are typically pre trimmed to fit nicely.

Re: Carpet Dye Vs. Buying Black carpet
just don't buy CHEAP aftermarket carpet.
get one with mass backing. get whatever color you want. it shouldn't be too difficult.
which is what im guessing use ebay dye persons problem was.

You also have to figure out why your carpet is stinking. I understand the OP is from many months ago and probably already did what he was gonna do.
But mine was stinky in my Civic, and when I pulled it, it was all moldy underneath (the joys of living in a snowy state). Don't bother cleaning it if it's moldy. Just replace it. I did'nt have any problems with the carpet I purchased from Stock Interiors. It's not as hard as you think to mark holes. If you cut two 1" long cuts in an X and you got a little play that won't be noticible.
