Icon2 B16A2 question

Hey guys i have a 2000 civic si i was curious if the tempurature switch will throw a check engine light code? There is 3 sensors in total, 1 being for the fan to work and the other is coolant temperature that has 3 wires running to it. I know those have codes but I was curious if the tempurature swtich below the distributor that has one wire going to the gauge cluster will throw a code if bad. Thanks!

No, the gauge in the cluster just won't work. But I've been wrong before......

The only codes thrown are o2 sensors... But i was asking because my car will go to 3 quarters on the hot and cold gauge and go back down... I dont think the car is really heating up... Took it to 2 shops and no luck

sounds like crappy shops.

The temperature sending thermistor is typically a single wire sensor. I'm not sure where it is on a b16 but it is under the dizzy on d series.

You can test it with a volt ohm meter.

However i think you may havea fan issue or thermostat issue.

Or air in the cooling system. Might just need a proper cooling system bleed.

Could also be a sticky thermostat. When was it last replaced?
