Default Car not starting after installing a CD player

93 Honda civic EX 1.6L

I was installing a CD player this past weekend. The issue was that comes out of car and the ones from CD player had different color codes which made it impossible for me to figure out which one is the right wire. I tried trial and error method and after 3 hrs of fun times, the CD player started.

The real problem lies here. After I installed the CD player, I was ready to go out and the car never started. I thought maybe the batter was dead. I jumped the battery but still the car never started.

Then I checked the distributor and noticed that there was no spark going to spark plugs. I change the whole distributor but couldn't resolve my initial problem. The car still won't start. I gave it to one of my mechanic and he tried for two days but no help from him. He also tried swapping the coil.

Can anybody help me to understand that how installing a CD player screws up the starting of a car. I still can't understand. I am thinking that maybe something got shorted while I was doing my trial and error to make CD player work.

PLEASE HELP !!!!!

Good grief, are you an idiot? Haven't you ever heard of a wiring diagram?

Now go wire it up properly, and check all your fuses to make sure you didn't blow one.

I never had wire harness that goes between the wires from car and the CD player. I also checked all the fuses and they all the fine. The CD player works, its just the car doesn't start anymore.

It does crank but no start.

If it is main relay, where is it located? It's definitely not in one of the fuse box underneath the hood.

i would try a brand new battery and return it if it still doesn't start...

you are supposed to remove all electrical power when you are doing this type of work so that even if you short something while you work, it won't cause problems like this..

that's why there are people other who charge money to do this type of things because they know how to do it

I did this by accident years ago while installing a CD player into my at-the-time g/f's '93 civic.

Turns out I just blew a fuse. I checked the fusebox in the dash, found the culprit, swapped it,, and the car was good to go.

You blew an ignition or Fuel-related fuse. That simple.
