Car acts weird when cold
Car: 2000 Civic DX
When my car is cold, it acts like it doesn't want to start. Crank and crank and crank, and it'll finally barely start. The car will idle once started. If the throttle is pressed, it will usually die. You can't put the car into gear to drive, or it'll die.
Once the car's up to temperature, it'll run just fine. If the car doesn't sit very long after driving, it'll fire RIGHT up.
IDK if the computer is throwing a new code b/c it's had an O2 sensor heater code for a while. I changed the sensor, and still get the code.
Any ideas, ya'll?

Re: Car acts weird when cold
What year?
Pull the CEL codes now to see if any new codes are thrown. Have you inspected the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and checked the ignition timing? Also try cleaning FITV (if you have one) and the IACV on the throttle body. Does unplugging the O2 sensor improve how the engine starts up and runs?

RON just gave you some ideas, and he has to be the most helpful person in this forum.
ive seen failing fuel pumps cause this, as well as bad gas.
there are lots of possibilities and the best thing to do is troubleshoot to narrow it down.
RON gave you advice on how to start troubleshooting the issue.
hop to it.

Failing fuel pump? He said the car runs perfectly fine once warmed up. My 97 DX also does this same thing. It begins when the weather gets colder mostly. How do you clean out the IACV? Is it one of the small holes in the TB
