I'm having a hell of a time finding the part number for the rear hatch molding on my EG.

Looking at the parts diagram, it appears that you have to buy the entire rear glass @ $500+, is this the case? I find it strange that they wouldn't just sell the molding.

The diagram shown below has no part listing for the molding.

Numbers 12 & 13 are the inside pieces that hold the wiring for the rear wiper if you have one, but no molding shown.

I'm talking specifically about the small rubber strip that goes around the entire rear glass and tucks under the spoiler. It's in the picture but not shown as a separate part number, which is unfortunate.




So those of you who have restored your EG, what have you done to get this part?

IIRC the moulding is bonded directly to the glass. IE its non replaceable.

^^ Agreed with above, though you should try your luck at a wrecker's to see if anything can be done.

So what are my options for a replacement? Gonna have to buy an entire new rear window?


Keep in mind I'm doing a total OEM restoration and need new or nearly perfect parts. The trim I have now is fine just not pitch black like I'd like it to be. I just forked over $1k+ on all the other moldings, but trying to justify an entire new rear glass is pushing it.

Got a part number? I'm looking and can't find it. If you are referring to the main seal that goes around the entire tailgate compartment (glass and hatch) I already purchased that part.
