Can a bad battery cause low idle issues
96 Civic EX
I have Honda battery it is about 4 1/2 years old, 100 month battery.
I was getting an oil change and they tested it and said the CCA was testing low.
The car starts ok for now.
But....I think it might be leaking or corroding, my positive terminal keeps developing corrosion around it, I clean it but comes back.
I notice that my car will idle low at times, and when I put on the AC the car will shake, was charged with a new compressor about 2 1/2 years ago and gets cold.
Can a low battery cause this?
No battery light. I do not think the alternator is an issue.

no, if the battery starts the car fine that means it is operating correctly...sort of. the low idle issues are not the battery's fault. it's common for civics to have odd idles.

Re: Can a bad battery cause low idle issues
I had bad battery few weeks ago before I bought Honda 100 month battery, but before that I jumped the car for two weeks, and yes I had bad, very low idle.
It continued after I put the new battery for few days then disappear.
I think it is connected with the reset of the ECU because I took of few times the cables of my battery.
I'm fine now.
