Default Calibrating fuel gauge

My fuel gauge and temp gauge went out in my cluster(Needle would stay past full and never move). I ordered a used cluster on ebay, and i plan to swap out the fuel/temp gauge.

When i bolt it back in, will it calibrate itself? Is there a method to this, i search numerous amounts of threads, and some people suggest to remove the needle, and fill up the tank, and stick the needle back in by the FULL mark. I do not want to remove the needle on the cluster, so is there a method to this, will it automatically move to what my fuel level is?

Please and thank you
Great group of dudes on this forum
Excuse me if its in the wrong section.
