Default A/C install on a 99 EK

sup guys.. needed a little help.. does anybody have any links or has installed the A/C on an ek ? there is a link somewhere that i have a printout of, but it not accurate..

also if my DX never had a/c on it.. does that mean that the evaporator is NOT there for sure ?

i allready have the evaporator and all the other stuff.. just wondering whats the best way to check if the evaporator is there in the box under the dash ? thanks for any help.. peace

I put it in my 99 hatch, donor car was a 00 ex, everything is plug and play, eveaporator slides right in(whole unit). Took me about 1 1/2 hrs to completly put it in. Just need to pull the glove box out to get at the evap area. Take out battery box to acess the gromet on the firewall. Wiring is all ready there, just plug it in.

No the dash doesnt have to come out. Take off the glove box, and you can get at everything there. Complete install in my car took about 1.5hrs.

Compressor, drier, condencer(w/ mount), Lines to firewall, Evaporator, A/C diaode(located in underhood fuse panel), there may be a relay- cant remember without looking(ill look in the morning), Switch(dash push button). Thats all i can think of off the top of my head. Hope this helps.

Use a non-degrading lube on the o-rings, you dont want them to brake down over time. Without lube, you take the chance of making a small tear in the o-ring causing a nice leak.
