Default boring 1.8l to 2.0l

Im about to do a motor swap with a B18C in my 95' Del Sol and I have heard that you can bore the 1.8l to a 2.0l. I just want to know what that will do for the motor by means of performance and how much it will cost.

Default Re: boring 1.8l to 2.0l (B18C1 Del Sol soon)

Boring a GSR to 2 litres would take an 85.5MM bore. An 84MM bore is common, and lots of people call it a 2.0 GSR but in reality it rounds to 1.9 litres, as it's only about 1933 CC's. TO bore the motor out that far requires sleeving (750-1000 dollars) and a new setup of pistons/rings (500 dollars) at a bare minimum. You arn't going to make a whole lot of power just boring the motor out, a lot of people who are already sleeving their motors for a turbo setup increase the bore size for a bit more displacement because it doesn't cost them any more money than to run stock bore.
