Default Body or build?

Question, I'm in a bit of a hunch and just want to know what I should spend my money on first. The body or my build? I have a LSV that I want to build the block and all that, but my exterior has rust and I was looking to get that all taken care of with a fresh coat of paint as well. What should I do first?

It's a black 97 Civic Hatch, and one side has already been bondoed on the wheel well from the previous owner.

The rot will get worse and worse as time goes on, while your engine will stay the same as long as you do routine maintenance.

Get rid of that bondo and have the body properly taken care of.

I agree with Newcarscent.. Get to a body shop and have it corrected the right way. I'm in the same situation and going to have to pay $$$$ to have the quarter panels replaced. I'll do that since the mechanical part of the car are good to go another 200k. Check the rest of the chassis/frame to make sure it is a solid platform before you begin repairing the rust. A good honest body shop will tell you what you're up against.. Or take pictures of the underbody and ask here, we'll tell you honestly if it's worth it.

This is a tech forum, but you created an opinion poll. See forum Rules sticky. I leave your thread open for now to see if something technical develops.
