agreed!
i have blizzak's for the winter, they work wonders.
without snow or cold road those tires will wear out really fast.
EDIT: incase you were wondering, the LM-22's (the one's i have) work great in the snow. I've heard great things about the WS-50's as well. for good winter tires.

well i have a winter set of wheels (Steelies), the regular all-season set, and a track set. I say try to find a set of steelies, or another set of steelies, and put the winter tires on them. Keep those someplace till it's snow season. You can take the summer tires and the current set of wheels that has the blizzaks on them mount them together. That way you'll have a winter set of wheels/tires and a summer/fall/spring set. If you're looking for performance and cheap, kumho ecsta 712's or similar. Search around h-t, there have been numerous threads and comments about tires.
note: if you already have steelies on ur blizzacks right now, check out http://www.tirerack.com and have a wheel/tire combo package. If you want you can get a set of alloy wheels or you can request steelies (much cheaper if ur just looking for function). That way you'll save on mounting and balancing, plus they'll ship right to ur door.

I have the winter tires on my Hx alloys (I like them) I think my stock wheels will be fine in the winter, they have been through many (owners before me). So all I need are economical summer/rain tires (longlasting).

They should last you around 20K miles on normal driving, maybe more. So it depends on how many miles you'll drive in each winter season.
My set i've used for 2 winters, i think i can get 3 more out of them, maybe 4, but by then the tires are getting old.
