Default Blew my timing belt last night.........

Am I screwed ? I once heard then when the timing belt snaps it sometimes causes the valves to bend on the vtec engines.....

honda engines are interference engines..there for when the belt snaps...9x out of 10 your valves will hit your pistons and bend....you need to do a compression test to find out how bad it is.

need to find out if actually damaged anything first..at worst...you'll need to replace bent valves, possibly a piston...you could be up to 2g's at that point...but at best...it'll be nothing...and you'll get out for around 500 for a new timing belt and diagnostics.

If the estimate of replacement is in the three digit area, go ahead an swap it.

You are probaly going to spend about 500 +/- for replacing timingbelt, pulley belts adn new water pump. I would do that if you have no bent valves but you really cant tell unless you pull head or put belt on first!!! Did you try strarting it after it stalled???? b/c if you did they are bent! Do a swap you wont regret it at all. And everything you need is already there. You probaly have the easiest car to swap a dohc in.
