B16c1 oil light but no sign of low oil presure
Hey all, i have a 94 hatch 95 gsr swap with an oil light thats been on since i got it. Im finally getting around to fixing odds and ends and this was next on the list.
Correct me if im wrong but ive read that vtec will not engage if the oil pressure is low so im going to rule out low oil pressure as a cause (for now)
i just put 4 quarts of 5w-40 (maybe 5-50? i forget) full synthetic since it was due, also hoping that would fix the issue but to no avail
Since it is a swap there is possibilty for wiring to be wrong/go bad, how likely would it be that the oil sensor has gone bad/wiring is bad. (hopefully this is the cause) I havent tested the sensor yet so i just wanted some second opinions
Everything seems to be running great, no leaks, good compression, no smoke, no overheating, no clicky, clacky, or otherwise un-oiled parts sounds so im hoping its just faulty wiring. Any thoughts?

Why are you using 5W40/ 5W50?
Have you checked your pressure sensor wiring? Gauge cluster wiring?
No, VTEC will not work with low oil pressure if it has a STOCK ECU.
