Rebuilding the engine because it needs it and I have the opportunity to do so. You guys only have the immediate issue at hand presented to you and are assuming the engine is in great condition. Compression is lower than it should be across the cylinders, it smokes a little under normal acceleration and then a lot under WOT. The last known mileage for this particular engine was well in to 200K mark and then I have driven the **** out of it for 3 years. It leaks so much oil I am surprised the EPA hasn't hit me with a million dollar fine! So, faced with all of that, why not rebuild it if the opportunity is there and the car will be out of commission for that time anyway?

Might have been a good way to start this thread with all the information. Everyone on here gave you a solution for the ONE specific problem you posted and then you talked about rebuilding an engine with more information then you originally shared. What did you honestly expect.
