More details are needed. CEL codes? Problem happened after some recent work? The normal idle is about 700 rpm. What is your idle speed?

Is the throttle cable adjust too tight? It should have about 1/2" of slack.

Is the throttle body dirty?

Stock B16a2? Do you have an FITV?

Does the CEL work?

Stock B16a2 would not have a FITV. Can you kill the idling engine by covering the top of the TB with your hand? If you use your finger to block the hole inside the TB leading to the IACV, does the idle speed drop to normal or below? Does the same happen if you unplug the IACV?

1) Try cleaning the IACV.
2) Try to properly adjust the idle speed:

3) Test the ECT sensor and the TPS.
