You would get over cammed. You need more compression.

Leave it stock if the block is going to be stock and you are not going to get it tuned.

^^^Agreed...you could throw some GSR camshafts in there. They are a bit better than the b16's.

If you have the cheese to build the head...turn around and put that into the block. Higher comp pistons (if you're staying all-motor) stronger rods / bearings / etc.

I second the GSR cams if you are wanting to upgrade as they wont require valvetrain upgrades or tuning.

Anymore, you can find a pair of GSR cams for $50. I put a set on a 1999 Si and the guy said it is noticeable, but it's nothing extreme. I didn't get to drive it unfortunately, so I can't attest to exactly how much. Still it's more bang for the buck than most upgrades.

If you have a first Gen B16A don't bother swapping GSR cams in it cause they are the same. B16A SiRII cams are better than B16A 1st Gen or GSR cams. I would go with CTR cams or you could use the Pro1 but you won't get as much power as you would if you had more compression.

get cam gears, new seals, a tuning program(hondata, neptune, crome) and you'd be fine with a little lower cam level like sk2 tuners.

If you are on a budget you could look into these.

http://www.crower.com/acura-1-8-gsr-...pair-4388.html

I don't have any first hand knowledge of the power they make but it is a CTR profile.
