Default B16 SIR 1

So I heard the SIR 1's take different mounts than just 94-01 integra, some people say you can only use a mount kit. But I was thinking wouldn't 90-93 integra mounts be the answer? And do I need anything to convert it to hydro besides the tranny?

Also how would you go about refreshing this motor? It allegedly has 75k, the plan was to rebuild, but in what fashion? I'm doing head gasket, timing belt water and oil pump, crank, pistons and a full hot tank for sure but what else would you recommend?

What's the engine out of? And EF or EG? And what's it going into, an EG or EK?

The B16A came out late 1989 as a 1990 model in civic's and crx's making 160hp and were an obd0 designation. This would be considered a version I if you want to call it that. It had the weakest cams of all generations of engines and came with a cable tranny. The year of the engine is stamped on the head to identify.

The second gen came of late 1991 as a 1992 model with many improvements. The Japanese version had the higher compression P30 pistons in it, better cams, better intake manifold, was obd1 in design which used 1 heater o2 sensor instead of two non headed like the older setup giving the computer better information for better idle and powerband characteristics as well as fuel mileage, a much improved ecu which was now 3 times faster than the previous setup and lastly it came with a hydro tranny unless you had a 92-93 DA Integra.

ALL parts from any gen B16 are interchangeable

So I could use any 90-01 integra axles?

The head casting code is PR3-1 Year '90

I was just gonna put the jdm P30 pistons in there so ill technically get a Sir 2 when I put it in plus cam and stuff, but I saw nippon jdm p30 pistons for 150 on ebay, has anybody had experience with these? Oem is about 400 a set, im tempted.

And will the nippons fit without having to shave the rods? And will I need a bore when putting them in?

If it's got a two post mount simply reuse the original D-series rubber mounts (unless you happen to have a '94 - '95 VX/EX/Si with the aluminum driver's side mount) If it's got a 3 post (Integra) mount, use a '94 - '01 Integra/'94 - '95 VX/EX/Si aluminum driver's side mount. Use a hydro trans and '94 - '01 Integra rear T-bracket.

Yes, but if you'll need make sure the intermediate shaft and driver's side axle seal matches whatever you used for a driver's side axle ('90 - '93 are different than '94 - '01) Passenger's side axles are all the same from '90 - '01.

theyre cheap. lots of people back in the day ran them. i have no personal experience with them, but you usually get what you pay for.
