Re: b16 with gsr cams? (GSR)
my friend has them in his b16 i drove it. it has a slightly better midrange, than the stock b16a cams, but not a big difference. worth if you get them for free, but pay anything for them i rather save up for some itr cams or ctr cams.

Ive been told that GSR cams make the best turbo cams. If you have a turbo on the B16, I'd say go for it. If not, stick with the B16 cams.

Go for ITR/CTR cams instead. You'll thank yourself later. I have a CTR intake cam and I was about to buy a GSR exhaust cam, but I figured I might as well wait and get the CTR exhaust cam.

Can't do that--B20 is non-vtec, B16 is vtec. You'd have extra lobes that were doing nothing in the head.
I have GS-R cams in my B16A2. Got 'em free, and a friend threw 'em in for me. They have a bit more duration, and a miniscule amount mroe lift. Felt no seat of pants difference (but my butt is awful, anyway).
On the dyno, power didn't fall off as badly toward redline--that's all.

They are slightly bigger than B16a cams, mostly in the duration portion. My friend with a B16A2 with GSR cams and I/H/E and Fields VTEC controller put down 150hp and 109 torque with very little tuning. Average B16a's put down anywhere from mid 130s to low 140s in HP and low 100's in torque usually. I think they make a decent difference, especially if you can get them real cheap.

Do you know if your friend had to some tuning with the GSR cams? Or if there was any drop throughout the powerband?
My B16a2 (converted to OBD-I) made 148.4hp/106.3lbs of torque. Only mods were stock airbox w/ K&N drop-in filter, test pipe, 2.25" piping, DC2 muffler, stock clutch/flywheel/timing.

itll help you out a little bit GSR run a higher compression ratio so the cams are built a little tougher and the lobes are different.
c1's have a 10.0:1 CR and b16's have a 10.2:1 (or 10.4:1, depending).

The car was dynoed last week, the powerband is very linear, no vtec dip or anything. The power curve is perfect w/ a slight upward bump at VTEC (5200 rpm) and peaking at 7500 rpm. The torque curve is flat, with it bumping up at vtec about 5 ft-lbs and flat up to 7500 rpm. We played with fuel just a tad, nothing major, picked up a couple ft-lbs in the midrange. Other than that, we made 3 runs on the dyno and left with that. We didn't really care because the motor is getting swapped with a LS bottom end in the next few weeks. Here are his mods if you are interested. Fake Comptech Airbox, DC 4-1 header, Kakimoto 2.5" catback, STR cam gears (untuned), B&M FPR, Fields VTEC-SFC

Oh yeah, he also ran 14.49@94mph at 3100 feet above sea level. That is good for a high 13 second pass at sea level. Not bad for a DX hatch with a B16
