Axle Problem
I'm reinstalling the driver side axle.
I had everything almost buttoned up but I had to fuss with the shock fork.
During this process I managed to pull out the tripod from the cv.
Everything is still sealed behind the cv boot.
How to I realign the tripod to go back into the CV without removing the cv boot?

There really is no easy way. I did the same thing and wasted about 3 or 4 days having the car up on jackstands trying to get it back in. I eventually just gave up and took the boot apart and realigned everything. If I had started with that in the first place, I would've saved myself a lot of grief. Good luck!

Same here I couldn't get mine back together without removing the boot. A banding tool costs about $10, and replacement bands cost about $1/ea.

When you disassembled the boot, did you figure out why the tripod wouldn't go back in the cv? Did the rollers have to be aligned before they would go back in?
Does anyone have a real picture of a disassembled axle?

The rollers are tapered, they only go into the slots one way. What I found when I took mine apart was that I had gotten some of the rollers back onto the pegs upside-down.

i have done this many times becuase i get so sick of axles sticking in the trans so i just pull and it comes apart its really not all that hard to get the axle back alligned what i do is kinda hold it in the air like a inch off the ground by the end of the axle then kinda twist it around tell it settles back in or you could put it back in the tranny when ready and pull out on the end of it and twist and push while turning it around or you can take it apart but id sugest getting the axle rebuild kit from honda for like 20 dollers if your going to do that

We figured it out. Thanks for the advise guys.
We managed to slip it back in without taking the CV boot off.
It was a 2 person job. I was under the car and I had a friend pull on the axle enough to free the rollers. I then grabbed each of the rollers and pulled them to the outer edge of the tripod. Then my friend just pushed the axle back in and it went back perfectly.
