Auto transmission seal leak

Auto transmission seal leak
I have a 95 civic coupe with auto transmission that i can not get to stop leaking from the passenger side half shaft seal. I'm on my third transmission since iv'e had the car, and about 6 seals, and it always starts leaking after no more than a couple of days after replacing. I thought maybe i have a rough place on the axle where it goes in the seal, but it doesnt seem to have one. I'm tired of transmission fluid leaking in my driveway, any ideals anyone?

Re: Auto transmission seal leak
I dont think that i am installing them wrong, and i cant really see any damage to them when i take them back out, and they fit tightly, dont have to use rtv to hold them in, allthough i do put a very thin coating around the outside edge just to make sure it wont leak from around the the seal. It always leaks where the axle fits though the seal. These trannys have a vent, right? Could it be plugged and building up pressure inside then leaking out the seal? If so. why only and always the passenger side? Thanks

Re: Auto transmission seal leak
You should detail exactly how you install the seals and axles.
Are you buying the right seal?
Are installing the seal flush with the outside of the differential?
Are you damaging the seal when installing the axle?
You should lightly grease the outer and inner surfaces of seal as well as the outer surface of the axle that contacts the inner part of the seal.

Re: Auto transmission seal leak
I'm assuming the axle is inserted fully/properly. Could be the axle is vibrating or moving in and out due to a worn/damaged CV joint or worn/damaged differential. A seal will have difficulties under these conditions. Where did you source the the transmission? And if you have replaced the transmissions 3 times and the seals 6 times then that would seem to indicate the axle has a problem? Is there any play where the axle enters the diff? Try grasping and moving/shaking it there. Maybe try a new axle. They're only ~$50.
