Anyone think i could use a ford o2 sensor?
My stock one went bad and someone gave me a brand new ford 4 wire o2 sensor. I did a little searching and found which wires were which on the ford sensor(signal, ground and 2 heater wires) and I have the diagram for the stock honda sensor so i went ahead and soldered everything up.The thing is my o2 sensor is disabled in the computer(openloop) so i dont know if it will work. Reason i am asking is i didnt want to drive to my tuner to enable the o2 sensor and it not work. I dont know if there are any difference between the ford and honda sensors like the voltages they use. Thanks for any input.

come seriously take 5 minutes and think about what you just asked!
If you still don't get it... NO! Go and get the proper o2 sensor.

It'll work fine! I fitted a Ford 4 wire O2 sensor which was taken from an JDM MX5 (Miata) and wired it into a EK4 VTi civic and it works 100%. They all do the exact same thing!!!

you guys are idiots. Seriousy. It's not like ford makes the sensor just as honda makes the sensor. Do they fit in the same hole? Hmm guess what, there's 3 types of o2 sensors, titania, zirconia, and LAF. Guess which one 80% of cars run? Yep zirconia. So if you honda has a zirconia sensor, and the ford has a zirconia, then surely it must work on a honda... Just don't puck up any of the wires.
no different than when you go to advance auto to get a replacement sensor and they give you a bosch sensor instead of a denso

While everybody is talking **** about Ford b/c they're domestic hating ricers think about it logically.
They're sensors - they work by resisting or sending voltage (depending on the type of sensor).
Get a book about Fords for what that sensor's for, find out how it works, does it do .5v at "full o2" or whatever - then compare it to a honda helms manual or something.
If it works the same, then all you have to do is make sure it fits.

For those who replied with something useful, thanks!
Yes they fit in the same hole..Ive already soldered it so i think im gonna give it a try, if it doesnt work then hey all i gotta do is buy a replacement sensor..

i don't see what the fukin deal is. There's no problem going cheap if you know what you're doing. go buy your 300 dollar intake. I'll just stick to my eBay tube with nice filter.
op:: what your asking isn't farfetched and dumb as some of these guys think. I've seen a list some where with lots of interchangable parts from other manufacturers.
