Default Anyone heard of Baer Brake Kits?

They have 13" front disc kits and 12" rear drum-to-disc conversion kits for my Civic, which has the worst brakes ever.

I've just never heard of them, so I can't buy items with no reputation to me. I know Brembo, PowerSlot, AEM......

Any words of wisdom, preferred words of experience.......

Thanks.

Ummm yea, Baer is a HUGE and widely known brake manufacturer. If you watch Hi-Rev Tuners on the Speed Channel, they just did front and rear baer brakes on the eg hatch. But anyways, Baer is cheaper than Wilwood and such, but from what I hear it's a better bargain!

A buddy just told me he saw them on Hi-Rev Tuners. He hasn't heard of them either, so I thought I'd ask.

When he mentioned Hi-Rev Tuners, I went silent.....watched it once and I would have trouble watching it again. "Pretty Boy" is dumber than a monkey and I don't agree with "Doc" on everything.

Anyways, is there any website to look them up? Or an online site, for example: inlinefour, nopionline...etc, that sells them?

Thanks for the response too BMac.

Baer puts together a good brake package.
The PBR twin piston calipers they use are oem quality (used on Mustangs, Cobras, Bullets, ZR-1's, Vettes, etc).

Unfortunatly they do not make kits for Hondas other than "the 17" wheel needed" kit. I have tried talking to them about wanting something that fits under a 15" wheel, but I gave up........the guy was pretty dense and just did not understand.
I'll be making my own kit using PRB calipers, it is the only way besides buying Fastbrakes (which are excellent brakes). I just do not want to use Wilwood calipers though....

Yeah, Baer is definitely a great breaking system. Better than stock, and right up there with Wilwood and Brembo

I knew about Baer before I knew about Wilwood.

Great company.

Thanks for all the replys guys. Guess I got left in the dark for too long. You gave great reviews and they seem to be cheaper.

Gotta hate the 17's though that are required. Maybe some Racing Hart C3's?

I have the Baer front and rear kits on my 00 Civic. I would convert the rear to Si rear disks instead. The car is rear biased with how huge the rear disks are. The fronts are great! I have put 18,000 miles on them already. And done some canyon carving with them!

Here's a pic of the rear disk on my car, only like 100 miles on them at this point...still fresh! Wrapped in 17" wheels.

And the front....slightly more used than the pic above, but almost still new.

LOL

Man...those pics don't even have my wheel locks on them! I didn't even drive the car home from the shop until I put those on. That's how fresh the brakes were in those pics...only miles they had on them where back and forth to the SEMA IAS show last April.

Baer is one of the best brake manufactureres out there. I don't know why anyone is even mentioning Willwood in the same sentance. Willwood it the bottom of the barrel. Baer is up there at the top.

Stock cables don't connect to the calipers that Baer provides. Have to install a custom cable, I've just been parking it in gear, but looking into installing some Lokar cables that are cut to fit.
