So I just finished my buddys d16y7 mini me swap with a y8 head, everything is hooked up and all that junk but we have a surging idle and when yu hit the throttle it drops rpms and you dont speed up. The motor dont die but it drops down in rpms. i have been looking into this on the interweb for the last 3 hours and havent found anything, but i know you all are gonna say use google, when i did and couldnt find anything. Any one have any ideas on what could cause this.

Check timing?
What ECU?
Any CEL's?
Triple check all sensors are hooked up. Map, o2, etc.

I timing is almost dead on by what we seen still running the y7 ecu and the check engine light is burnt out and i was thinking it maybe the map or one of them just wanted to see what some one else said

Well what do you expect still running the Y7 ECU? It wasn't programmed to run the VTEC head. You gain nothing from the VTEC head without engine management that can operate it.

well you can't run a 2 wire iac with a 3 wire ecu. get the correct ecu.
