I have a 97 Honda Civic EX. If I am correct it came with a stock keyless entry, but when I bought it used a year ago I was never given a remote. Since then I have installed an aftermarket stereo meaning that the stock system would no longer work anyway since the alarm and remote unlock is tied into the stereo. What I'm wanting to know if how do I install an aftermarket remote unlock? I saw one on eBay, here.

I think when I was installing my stereo I found the two wires that unlock or lock the doors. I was testing connections and I connected them to the light green wires, and the doors locked or unlocked when I opened the doors. Any insight and how to put in an aftermarket remote unlock? Will it be easy?

if you're gonna go through the trouble, i would just put an alarm in, it's only a few more wires to hook up.

alarm systems sometimes are allot to hook up and wire.. good luck i had problems with mine after i bought the car and couldnt figure out what the previous owner did lol...
ended uo going to a local car audio shop and having them completely wire a new system it was pretty complicated..
