aftermarket lsd? witch one works, witch one to avoid?
I just got a gsr tranny for my new project. Now i'm looking for a lsd for it. I think I'd like the oem type r helical, it works! MFactury makes a helical and I'd like opinions on witch lsd works and witch one's to avoid.

I was just going to say avoid obx, i have heard terrible things about there lsd's.
Mfactory,quafie, or oem is where I would look.

so obx is the one to avoid at all cost! all others are good and should not give me any trouble?

I only paid 1900 for the car, so there's absolutely no way I could justify spending $1000 on one of the high end LSDs, but for $350, I might consider an OBX if the issues people had were only in high HP or high abuse applications.

People say OBX lsd's are junk because of excessive bandwagoning that occurs here on a daily basis. Use the search button...

can't say i know why on LSD. but i do know obx pretty much anything blows. it works but thats about it. just works.
but quaiffe for sure. wavetrac is decent. you can pay 350 and in 2-3 years pay another 350 for a new one so on. or pay 1k once.

Can I ask specifically what you've heard about the OBX lsds? I've also heard the "they're junk" comments often, but I haven't read any specifics about why. I just purchased a '97 DX coupe, and I was considering installing an OBX lsd down the road to increase traction in the snow. I'll be driving about 60 miles each way to work through some pretty rural areas, and the last thing I'd want is to be stuck on a hill spinning one wheel.

many times them simply breaking, axles being stuck, seen a few threads about this.
Basicly everything i have seen about them points them being just big peices of ****.
My friend had one on a 355hp boosted ls with b16 tranny. The lsd exploed on the dyno, and ****ed the tranny. This bein g said you may do whatever you please, its your money.
You may belive they are ok, but If i see a thread posted by you about you getting one and it breaking, Im going to say I TOLD YOU SO.
