aerodynamics question
i kno a lot of body kits out there r not functional but there are the few that are...of all the body kits which ones are known for their aerodynamics? btw, the body kit would be for a del sol
what about the immitation mugen body kit? although it's not as good quality it still serves the same purpose, right?
-if you're going to just flame then just don't post at all...i'm just looking for opinions

Re: aerodynamics question (AzntaggeR)
I don't know about kits for the sol, but mugen are know for have functional kits. They spend hundreds of hours testing in wind tunnels. Thats why their kit cost so much. If you want a funtional kit you got to spend big money to cover the companies time in wind tunnels.

Re: aerodynamics question (Slow CX)
i want a body kit because, they usually have a bigger openin in the front which means more air flow through the engine bay...but i plan on doing quarter mile passes...and plus i like the more aggressive look with body kits...if i could, i would just get a lip and clean sides skirts and bumper but they don't even make lips for my car that i've seen

wide body del sol. that is hot! but to be serious, you really dont need a body kit. youre not going to notice anything except for looks and thats a decision you have to make on your own.

Re: aerodynamics question (AzntaggeR)
i'm not much into body kits and stuff but from i've learned in my physics courses, spoilers/wings and curved surfaces add weight to the car. the only time you'll notice the difference or take advantage of aerodynamics would be going at 120mph...so it's sort of pointless to have all that stuff on your car...

1st Veilside
2nd Bomex
3rd VIS Racing
Veilside and Bomex are the only two that I know of that will actually help the areodynamics of your car. I added VIS cause their quality is really high as well with the other two brands. Everything else seems to be style and cheap/thin fiberglass.

I strongly advise against VIS Racing!!! I bought a front bumper cover..
found out after having it sanded @ the body shop that the car would need to be dropped at least 2.5 inches for it to fit without sitting on the tyre.
As for the bumper itself, it's the worst fiberglass creation I've ever seen! If you dont believe me i'll post pics... My APC carbon fiber hood lines up better.

i really don't want a spoiler...i mainly want downforce to the front of the car

If it's frontend downforce you're looking for, then you can try a "universal" front splitter like these:

Have to disagree...

Defects do make it out of the wherehouse, but I've never had a problem with VIS before. The reason I mentioned them was they come with mesh already inserted and their fiberglass is beyond thicker than Erebuni, Andy's Auto Sport, Kaminari, and Xenon.

Re: aerodynamics question (97GSR Hatch)
still a body kits main purpose is for looks as much as people want to believe they help with aero, which in some cars they do, but for you average civic/sol naw!!
