Adding passenger airbag?
I have a 92 CX which of course did not come with an airbag. I am replacing the dash soon and the one I got came with the passenger side airbag. I was wondering if there is any way to activate it. Would be nice to give my girl the same protection I have

Re: Adding passenger airbag? (Sushiboy)
Im bringing this back from the dead cause im now in the same position. I have a 92 CX (single airbag) and just got a dash with dual airbags.
I would like to have 2 airbags instead of 1. When searching the junkyard do i need ALL of the airbag wires or just the ones for the 2nd airbag? Where is the computer? Do i need a new airbag computer? Like what was mentioned above, are there additional sensors i need?

Re: Adding passenger airbag? (White Lightnin)
check it out
i just helped a buddy of mine gut the interior on his 93 bubbleback so i can build him a new dashboard and weld in a cage. i pulled just about everything for the srs system
1) there is obviously the airbags themselves
2) the srs unit normally found on the "tranny hump" just behind bottom of dash where the ashtray/lighter goes usually under a 2 piece black cover
3) i found 2 srs sensors (decelerometers if i am correct) in the vehicle, both in the front footwell area...under carpet, under foam insulation in a small pocket just about where the forewall meets the floorboards
you still have to make sure that your fuse box has the provisions for a plug and play operation.......hope this helps a little

It does help. Does anyone have some pics?
When i was just at the bone yard i found a piece of the srs unit (could tell cause of yellow cables). It was a silver round piece. Could this be one of the sensors?
