Acceleration LAG? Feels like something's keeping the car from acceleration at low RPMs! HELP!
Alright, so my car was driving fine today when I stopped to grab something to eat with a couple of friends. After we finished we came back out and got the car started again... I didn't notice anything during the first two gears, shifting normal at around 3k RPM. Once I got onto the freeway, now probably in 3rd gear, I have the gas pedal stepped in at a steady pressure to just pick up speed normally, as it gained RPMs, to about 2.5K to 3K, the car's RPM takes a sudden pause somewhere in between there. My gas pedal pressure never changed, and in 4th and 5th gears, the same would happen, I took a closer observation and it seems to pause or freeze right at 2.75RPM on the 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. WTH could be causing this? It's like a complete power loss and I have to press down on the gas even harder just for it to barely start moving over 2.75K RPMs and when it reaches 3k RPM, I can physically feel the car "free" up and pull forward, as if someone just let go of my car while it was struggling. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this with clarity but I just hope some of you here on H-T can shed some light in my direction or a lead to some possibilities to this problem. Thanks!

approx 95000miles, stock d16z6... The car was driving fine the day before and the time before stopping to eat, then it started occuring after I ate.

man. i got the same problem, coming out of class today.... have you fixed your problem? have you tried cleaning your injectors?

replaced the fuel filter yet?
check the distributor for proper voltage going from the dizzy to the sparkplugs. check the ICM (ignition control module) aka ignitor if it is in proper working order. Sounds more like a ignition problem then a fuel issue. BTW hondas tend to have distributor problems anywhere from 90k miles to 130k miles. My last four cars 2 integras and two civics have had the same problems.

This was a problem a while back.. I forget what fixed it... But I did replace the fuel filter... and re-did the timing... mine was like at 2 or 4 when i checked so it was quite off!
