Default 99 civic window problem

Hi I have a 1999 honda civic. My problem is when I roll down my windows its fine but when I roll it up, the window moves towards my side mirrors so it doesnt roll straight up. It tends to curve towards my hood. I was just wondering does anyone have this problem? Please help. thanks.

Pull the door panel off and check the window regulator and the glass alignment. Also spray some silicone lubricant into the rubber side channels.

Do you think something is off? I did take it apart and lined everything back on. After a couple times rolling it down. It started acting up again.

If the diagrams below and lubricating the side channels does not work, then you may need to replace the regulator.

OP, this is common.

From what I can tell the tracks get dry, so the glass becomes difficult to roll up. Then the regulators (scissors) get stressed and can bend. This can also lead to stripped out gears or burnt out window motors.

I suggest anyone who has these problems should roll the window up and leave it alone until you can address the issue.

Maintenance would be just spraying silicone spray into the tracks and roll the window up and down to spread the lubricant. Of course that's before you actually get the window popping out.

If the window is popping out I'd expect the regulator is already bent and needs to be replaced.

I dealt with this for a long time, what I do is... don't roll the window all the way down.. leave like 2 inches up..

you should have no problems until you get it fixed.

I've had cars that didn't have a problem until the window was half way up or about two inches from the top (two different cars). I think it really depends on how the regulator is damaged.
