99 Civic Si Halfshaft/ Axle Problem
I have a clicking noise on my front left wheel. Everytime I turn completely all the way and when I step on the brake hard and take off quick, I can hear that noise.
I took off the wheel and shake the axle/ haftshaft and it moved back and forth. Is that suppose to happen? What is happening? Do I need new axle/halfshaft or can this be fix.
I have coilover kit/ agx shocks / skunk camber kit for the car.
Thank
And the car has just hit 100k

Re: (1siks2k)
I looked at it and everything seems to be in good condition except for the fact
that when I push it and pull it, its seems like its loose. Is that supppose to happen?
Looks and sound like the connecting between the brake disc and axle is not fully connected.
Thanks

Re: (inthad)
It sounds like the axle it just getting worn out. Usually, one of the boots gets torn and all the grease splatters out, thus making that axle fail. As for your movement, if the axle slides in and out,(makes axle get longer, shorter) it is normal. But if it goes side to side, it should not be moving that way. Hard to explain....

Re: (inthad)
This sounds stupid, but are all the nuts/bolts tightened. Control arm, tie rod...etc....
I say this because I had a sound like this on my Element and it turned out to be a subframe bolt that wasn't tightend down all the way...

Check all your bolts. Also check the half shaft and make sure the 3 bolts are tightened.
