Default 98 Civic EX Rattle

Im trying to locate this very loud and annoying rattle. It seems to be coming from the passenger side dash somewhere. Im thinking it is inside the car and inside the dash. I have all the lower trim pieces pulled out including the glove box from when i installed a cabin filter. It rattled before I put the cabin filter in. Havent tried putting the interior back together but from what I can tell, where all the bolts and screws would go, nothing is loose enough to rattle. It sounds like hard plastic against hard plastic or metal on metal. Any help would be appreciated.

check your ecu? see if its bolted down. maybe your air vents the tubes that come off the blower could be loose if you have moved them before.

I thought it was my ECU at first. Since the shell is metal. I put some sound dampening material over it and bolted it down. Still hear a rattle. So I'm ruling out the ECU. Have never taken the air vents out. But could possibly check them? Anyone know how to get to them?

It's accessible after removing the glove box. Check if it's a little loose. Two screws hold it in place. You could also remove it temporarily to see if the noise goes away.

I'll look into it.
