Default 97 Civic LX P1298, P0135, P0141. P0501

Hello all. I have a 97 Civic LX throwing the codes above. I checked the 02 sensors and one was bad and replaced it. The exhaust manifold was cracked and I fixed that also. I searched on the combo of codes and replaced the ELD, although with a used one that I can't say isn't bad. Fuse 15 is not blown nor has it. I doubled checked to make sure it was fuse 15.

I replaced the ELD since volts didn't drop when lights turned on. I checked the wiring under the intake manifold and they look good (again, no blown fuse during all this).

I checked the countershaft speed sensor and it tests good (had P700 and P720 codes, but those went away after reseating sensors and connectors).

The car returns P1298 no matter what, but after clearing, the other codes don't show up until the engine is turned on **and** the car is put in gear.

I may have a short between the ELD and connector G402.

How do I check that and what else could be going on?

Thx

Just as a follow up note to anyone else. The first ELD from the junk yard was bad. I took it back and they had another, so we swapped it. I double checked the wiring per the FSM and while doing this accidentally allowed the probe to touch the metal bar between fuses to touch while the probe was in post 3. Didn't think anything of it at the time as I quickly pulled away. I installed the 2nd ELD and the darn thing behaved even worse. Then I remembered the spark and checked fuse #15 again. Sure enough it had blown now. I replaced it and all is working great. So, don't allow the connection and if you do, check fuse #15 again.
