97 Civic heater-A/C blower motor making noise
I wonder whether the motor is serviceable. Has anyone tried opening up the motor assembly? Does the motor have replaceable brushes?

Those blower motors have housing that are glued together same as those on condenser fan motors. They were not designed to be serviceable but its possible to split them apart and change the parts, but im not sure if the parts are available.

Can you take sound recording of the blower?

I guess it's possible that no one has done this and that in the future I'll need to give it try and see what happens.

I have not tried opening-up a blower motor. I just happen to open before a sealed condenser fan motor. They are not the same but i assume they are simillar in construction. The one i opened have the housing made of two halved parts joined together by glue and the edges are folded to hold the other half securely. Inside is almost same as any other brushed motor with the usual permanent magnet on them. The carbon brush and bearings can be replaced if you can sort out the parts. Putting back is just the reverse of tearing it apart.
Once my blower stops working, i'll tear it apart and take pics.

Replaced blower motor, and now the blower is quiet again.
I have not yet tried opening up the old one. I'll report back when I do.
