Default 96 ek coupe w/ 99-00 Dash swap, HOW TO INSTALL AND GET AC TO WORK???

So i just picked up a 96 ek coupe, and the guy did a 99-00 dash swap... i have no idea why -_-. I recently picked a 99-00 center bezel and plugged everything in, the heater works so thats good.

to my knowlege the 96-98 temperature are cable controlled where as the 99-00 are electronic. NOW.. i want to get ac working,

its a d16y8 swap, everything is missing, the lines and everything.

What parts would i need to get and wiring and everythang? or is it same for 96-00?

Thanks

its an ej coupe.
do you have the AC system under the hood?
if not go to a junk yard and take it all from a 99-00

no ac system, no lines at all, juss a bare d16y8 tranny and some power steering.

so only a 99-00 ac parts will work? a 96-98 will not work?

well i guess thats logical, although the chassis is 96, the dash has been converted to a 99-00, i hope the guy who did the dash swap, hooked everything up...

I did the swap on my '96. Just not the dash. I am running the '96 under hood ac parts and it works fine.

its no longer in the car. if your swapping to a 99-00 center bezel you have to change the heater core box too (or just the bottom control parts). it is electronically controlled

as for wring differences, other than where it plugs to the bezel, the fan motor plug is different and the rear window defrost wire has to be spliced into the main harness

hmm it seems my heater and fan is working already so i guess that isn't a problem right now, so i juss need to get the ac in and recharged and i should be set? also does anyone know which exact parts i need? i find ppl selling their "complete" ac systems, but i'm a noob when it comes to ac, what are the exact parts needed? lines, condesor, canister etc.

yes i had a stock z6 with the edelbrock turbo kit on 10psi. after 2 yrs it eventually spun a rod bearing. so im in the process of droppin a z6 eagle/wiseco build very soon. as soon as i finish this chasebays brake line tuck and shave the engine bay and paint it. i already built the motor myself last month.

i was probably making near 200hp as u see in my sig i ran a 14.7-14.6@97-98mph. this was only a basemap from phearable.net and was never tuned. i don't plan to tune it until i get my new build in it and actually make some real power. i wasnt too worried about blowing the stock z6 but my basemap was a pretty good tune. i did run a wideband and afr's were within the range. which would be about 200hp in a 4dr. when u boost ur y8 it will be the best investment u can make. i love having a ball bearing turbo and having full boost by 2500-3k rpms. i can say it was the best money ive ever spent and enjoy every penny of it. if u ever need any help or have questions u can Pm me.

O.K. so like Im about to do this swap... how ever I was needing to know if I dont care to keep AC, If every thing will plug up for me other than heater control/temp. I guess my Question would be what about controls for were the hot air gets moved to? sorry havent spent a lot of time under the dash of the EKs in my life. I just know that with the EFs it seams they changed every thing from body to body and year to year for the 4 years they made them LOL.
