Default 96 Civic Ex Trans Problem? Maybe Shifter Linkages?

Vehicle: 1996 Civic Ex with d16y8 bone stock besides wheels and a radio

So I bought this car a month or 2 back and for some reason I dont really remember if it did it when I bought it.

But it seems to be hard to get it in gear (hard to explain) Ill start from the start with what I all did in the past 3 weeks or so

Bought a brand new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder clutch just seems fluffy so replaced it for the hell of it since I had them brand new in my garage from my previous civic

Then Purchased a brand new OEM Exedy Clutch Kit with pressure plate / throw out bearing / clutch disc only thing it didnt come with was the pilot bearing.

My buddy and I took the trans out and installed it at his work (Honda lol)

While we were tearing it out we relized that the shift linkage stabilzer bushing to the trans was shot. Just wiggle the bar around lol So this was the cause of my car being hard to just get it into gear because there was soooo much play.

Replaced with the poly bushings a week back and it gets into gear perfectly everytime. but it seems to go in "hard". its not hard to get it in but when you put it into gear you can really feel it (maybe a POP feeling? idk how to explain). (drove my friends 97 ex sedan and his is OH so smooth lol)

I can tell you this.. im sitting in the car, Push clutch down, put into 1st gear (hard), keep clutch in and put it in 2nd (smooth). while keeping the clutch in and go threw all gears its smooth except the 1st time.

Then again.. Push clutch in, put into 1st gear (hard), put it back in neutral, let off clutch and push in clutch again, put into 2nd (hard).. btw do this with all gears its the same

Terribly SORRY for the rambling but its really the ONLY way I can explain it without people not being here and feeling it for yourself.

So my question.. Is it the trans itself? could it be the shifter itself or the shifter boot where the ball chills at.. lol any help could reallllllly be helpful

Im getting to the point where I just wanna pick up a new one for like $250 and try it

havent found a different one yet and no extra free time to change it out.. So just seeing if anyone else has anymore opinions

dont know if its the same in other cars but noticed when its in 3rd and 4th there is side to side play maybe 1/2" worth of play.. but when in 1st 2nd 5th there is no side to side play.. i dont know just something I noticed

I replaced the stabilizer bar bushings as the one to the trans was completely shot. dont know if another bad bushing or something would cause my car to go into gear hard

if its going into one gear hard and others fine, youre more than likely looking at messed up synchros.

If it goes into all gears hard, make sure you filled the tranny fluid back up with DEALERSHIP gear oil, i dont care what anyone says... 10w30 motor oil doesn't work well in the tranny. Dealership stuff has additives for the synchros and it's virtually problem free with my experiences. Make sure the clutch was bled GOOD (place clear aquarium tubing on the bleeder on slave cylinder, place into a half-full bottle of brake fluid, pump clutch, open bleeder and pump clutch some more.
