93 Si Hatch Back up fuse weirdness
Ok, so I`ve had a read of this thread:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ht=backup+fuse
My clock and radio reset everytime I turn my car off as in the above thread.
I have checked the Backup fuse and it is pulled/missing (just bought the car so am troubleshooting).
After replacing the fuse, I find that my climate controls and blower remain on even when the key is out of the ignition.
There is an aftermarket radio and I`m hoping someone can point me where to start looking.
Thanks!

Allright I`ll pull the radio out and take a look at the climate controls as well.
Another symptom I`ve noticed is that the gauge cluster backlighting flickers, some are on and others off and they seem to randomly alternate.
Also the back lights on the climate controls don`t light up, only the buttons on the climate control are illuminated.
If I can`t find any wires touching I will go grab a new hood fuse box from the wrecker.

I swapped out the dimmer, with no luck.
I also swapped out the fuse box, with no luck.
I see that when my back up fuse is plugged in, my daytime running lights are also on in addition to the climate control button lights and blower having power.
I haven`t been able to check the bulbs in the climate control back lights yet as I can`t seem to find the keys to remove the stereo.

Re: 93 Si Hatch Back up fuse weirdness
Ok so after some more digging, and looking at a wiring diagram. I see also that my power mirrors work when this fuse is installed and no key in the ignition.
This leads me to believe that perhaps it is my ignition switch that is bad? As none of these accessories should have power when this switch is in the off position, only when the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
Am I on the right track?
Some other info, I found an old alarm near the in car fuse box that was disconnected, I removed all the wires, insulated the exposed bits, and removed the unit to no avail. I also suspect that this car had power windows or some power accessory retroffited into the doors at some point as well, as there are 5 wires going to each door that do not look factory and they end in the drivers kick panel area with no relay attached.
I guess that`s what I get for buying an 18 year old car, lol.

Damn it not the ignition switch. Ripped the whole dash apart trying to see where in the hell something is spliced in. No luck so far.
The troubling thing is even with the dash on my garage floor and nearly every damn connection apart the heater blower still has power. lol.

Seems I had some wires touching waaaaaay under the dash and behind the insulation. Just snipped em off at either end and rewired. Good to go! .....I hope.
