95 Civic EG Coupe Maximum Wheel and Tire Size / Clearance for inner wheel well only
Howdy All,
A little pre-amble: I am needing to get new wheels (and tires) for my EG coupe road race car to clear my 6 piston Wilwood brakes. It looks like I need to move to 16 or 17 inch diameter wheels to do this...
So, I'm looking to pick everyone's brain for ideas of what has worked for them (or combinations that have been known to work) of this huge size. I'm thinking 16x7 to 16x9, but I'm not sure what the offsets that would work for each width size option.
The target is to run the largest possible tires (275mm for competition, 255mm for track day) on the front. I am preferring 16 inch wheels, but 17 are an option if nothing can meet the requirements. I have decent race camber (2.5deg), so it will slightly affect my clearance, too. I don't care about fender clearance (I will have ones made that fit) and I am running extended ball joints for suspension geometry correction. I just having a hard time searching for any "non-uber camber stance" fittings that would provide the suitable offsets...
I just need the wheels to clear the brakes http://www.wilwood.com/Images/BrakeK...637_wcd-lg.jpg and to have enough offset to not rub at either wheel lock end. I know the offset is going to be quite a lot...
I've tried searching and searching to see if anyone has addressed this concern, but my question is too technically specific for a well rounded research voyage...
If anyone can help with some steering clearance fitment offsets for various wheel widths (16x7,16x7.5,16x8,...,16x9, etc and the same for 17), that would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Kevin
